Maybe with 94.5 coming on the scene at least "New Country 97.3" will finally leave the stage sometime in the future.

These were my first thoughts upon reading this thread.  Assuming Citadel is in it for the long haul with WYSF, will be one station going away, and it'll be WNCB 97.3.

Hmm, as of 10:04a (Sun 7/6) Reg's show is on the stream. http://citadelcc-WYSF-FM.wm.llnwd.net/citadelcc_WYSF_FM

Is it also on air on 94.5?

It was on today but it sounded as though a woman was filling in for Reg.  It was his music though.

I caught a portion of the show between church and grocery shopping.

If you heard a woman on there then she has been on there for at least a couple of weeks.

That was frequent fill-in Drew, Reg split the show with her. Reg said today that his show would be on "TFN".

I found this thread on the Birmingham al.com forums about the WYSF format change. Seems there aren't a whole lotta folks happy with the country music emanating out of their radios on 94.5 FM. Interesting sidenote: Whoever started the thread referred to the station as "Soft Rock 94.5" rather than just 94.5 FM or the "New 94.5"; and no one else commenting on the thread told them any differently.  Roll Eyes WYSF hasn't used the "Soft Rock" moniker in quite a while, for several years now. Guess the "Y-94.5" name didn't stick, either. That's probably not a good sign if the listeners are not even aware the name of the station has been changed two times since then.

Here's the link to the al.com forum. Once you get there, you'll have to select topic #24193.

Now that the holiday weekend is over, anyone think the new format (country or otherwise) will finally be unveiled sometime on Monday?

Not many folks at al.com must care about WYSF - they're talking about gospel now.  Roll Eyes

(It's neither here nor there, but I gotta say it somewhere: those al.com forums are the worst looking, clunkiest things to hit the internet since, well, ever!)

Speculation (copy/paste copy/paste blindCC blindCC) seems to be leaning towards some type of CHR. Could they be about to go up against The Q and Jamz?

...and how would that work out?

Until the format is revealed, I guess the question becomes one of personnel fallout.  Hate to see anyone lose a gig, but with Farid coming in to spark the changes some other shoes are about to drop.
