Unbelievable. This is coming supposedly after a major shakeup by Citadel head honcho Farid Suleman himself. Perhaps more to come as well.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......SAY IT ISN'T SO! There can't (and never, ever should be) FOUR country stations in Birmingham. Must be a stunt for something else on the horizon.

Did this happen after the fireworks music ended or something?
I think Citadel screwed up the music.  One of the stations was not on a delay and everyone around me had two soundtracks to the show, one 6 seconds behind another.  It was so annoying we shut off the radios in disgust; I missed part of the show trying to sync with everyone else's radios.

Citadel likes picking American holidays to do their flipping (they flipped it to Hot AC on Memorial Day weekend in '06). At least they're patriotic!  Tongue

I was incorrect in my above post...they flipped it on Memorial Day weekend in 2007, not 2006.

Now that three of the four major groups in Birmingham (Cox, CC, and Citadel) have at least one country station each in the market, Crawford needs to have one, too. WYDE should now change its format to country to "complete the set". Cheesy  Maybe with 94.5 coming on the scene at least "New Country 97.3" will finally leave the stage sometime in the future.

I like country music myself and listen to it sometimes on the radio...but FOUR stations offering it? That's just a bit too much, country or otherwise. Satellite radio is beginning to look better and better every day.  Smiley
