Well, I don't have the details, but it appears that the companies simulcasting these HD2s on AM are getting the verbal go-ahead from the FCC.

But they are no longer an AM...thus, not simulcasting. 1400 is now an ESPN affiliate. Don't lose sight of what they're really doing here: simulcasting an HD2 on FM...with the coverage area overlaying itself. They aren't filling in gaps, instead they are painting the same area twice with out either being a true station.
