"The Touch" in Harrisburg is running sweepers saying that they are moving and their Web site has changed its home page to have only a link to their online streaming and a message about their move.  Are they finally going to get an FM signal and abandon the horrible signal they and every other station that tried to run a music format on the current frequency?

Either you're really young or you didn't mean that. There was a time when 1400 (WFEC) was huge in Harrisburg... a long time ago, but still it wasn't always a loser.

I remember 'FEC back to the late 60's and I was only commenting that a better signal might have increased their listenership.  They have had some decent formats over the years but they will never increase listenership with any format without a better signal. I am hoping that what their "tease" is hinting at.

Wonder if this is what the new 95.3 FM translator that is licensed to Cumulus is going to carry.  The license says to relay WNNK, but obviously that won't be the case.  Link to the license to cover http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/pubacc/Auth_Files/1202571.pdf and link to the FCC technical data http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?list=0&facid=158598.

Is there even a need for them to call it a translator?  (WTCY 95.3) ?   The pattern covers Harrisburg pretty well:

If 1400 is freed up, seems to be a good shot at a simulcast with ESPN 1440 out of York.
Here come the Phillies (back)?

According to an FCC document I found on-line, the purpose of this translator is to simulcast 1400 WTCY, to fill-in supposed gaps in 1400's nighttime signal, due to interference.  As such, this FM could not originate programming.  Unless something has changed recently, translators are forbidden from doing so.  1400 would not then be freed up, as it is the originating station, not vice versa.

Hmmm.  Gotta hand it to 'em.  Sounds like a clever way to get another FM license.  Wonder how long it'll take for Cumulus to apply for a similar translator in York, to fill-in gaps in 1440's nighttime coverage...

Here in lancaster, we are getting a translater for a Christain station out of New Jersey, I cant find where the 95.3 transmitter is coming from. The station name is hope 90.5 wvbv, but translates here in the Lancaster area on 95.3. Anyone know where the 95.3 is transmitter is located in the Lancaster area?

The COL and transmitter location for that station is New Holland.  It's another one of those Hope Church of Marlton New Jersey translators, with an ERP of 10 watts.  They're all over the place.

The Touch is simulcasting now on 1400 and 95.3 but uses the 95.3 ID exclusively now as of this evening.  The new signal is still going to be problematic outside of the city but at least it should be better than the AM signal was at night.  My old Sony Walkman portable radio is not very sensitive or selective, so I may have to get a new radio to pull it in clearly.

Driving north up Route 72 from Lancaster the signal came in well enough to overpower Hope FM's New Holland translator.  Around Lebanon it got beat up pretty badly from Bill 95 (WBLJ) in Shamokin.  Interestingly, it did come in well enough at a few points where I picked up the RDS info, which read "Hot 92.1".
