Chris, you probably don't have small children. We know absolutely nothing about this man's personal life. If he'd boarded the bus my 9-year-old daughter rides every day, he'd be gumming his meals by now.
And, no, he wasn't just "doing his job." His job is to provide something resembling entertainment on the radio. I'm hoping someone can explain to me what possible benefit for the listener (yes, the listener - remember that word?) this entire bit was supposed to have had. The entire thing was juvenile, stupid, and certainly not worthy of the market size.
The entire show and whoever greenlit the idea should be looking for work.
My point is simple, if the bus driver was stupid enough to let him on the bus, then Cubby exposed a very serious security threat for every child on that bus. Thank God it was a harmless wacky radio guy and not a deranged pedophile. If you read the article, the radio jerks were as surprised as you are outraged that they were actually allowed on. Perhaps this story will serve as a public service if it results in greater awareness of what that bus driver ALLOWED to happen and how unacceptable it is
BTW, I have a small child also... but I don't trust ANYONE to take him to school other than his mother. Cubby helped demonstrate why.
