I have had no use at all for 96.1 "The Beat" ever since the Demon CC took Magic 96 off the air. Still I never really expected them to pull a stunt like this one:

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/local/story/151412.html

What were these idiots thinking?  Did they thnk they could get by with such a stupid stunt?

All of the boneheads should lose thier jobs over this stunt, but they will probably just get a slap on the wrist, and a bahind the scenes "attaboy".

I hate Clear Channel.

Unbelieveable!  I'm not opposed to a silly stunt every now and then for fun, but whoever thought this up needs help from a professional!

My wife drives a bus, and the care she takes for her children is amazing.  She loves them so much she'd protect them with her life (not just a passing thought; she has had to defend against a drug-crazed nut!)  I hope they throw those guys under the jail.

It will be a great day when CC is just a paragraph in a history book.

I don't think this would have come close to happening IF it was still Magic 96.1 -- but, hey, more ad dollars is more important than juvenile stunts like this, right?!?!?

Apart from conglomerate radio, this is another reason why the industry as a whole is in the toilet.

You have idiots like these who sit around a conference table and say "hey, this is a COOL idea!  Duuuuude!  Let's do it!"

This is the same type of brilliant, forward thinking that resulted in the incredibly funny Wii contest in California that cost a woman (smart or no) her life.

When the industry quits hiring people who have the intelligence level of a 17 year old, who think that radio is just one big party and beerfest, and don't think beyond the next "beer thirty" time or Friday night pub crawl, then it might have a chance of steering clear of the iceberg that's dead in its path.

And eacalhoun, you're right.  This crap wouldn't have happened at Magic 96.  At least not with my involvement.

"With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

Hey Eggman, you might be able to get your old job back if they dump this crew.  Mind you the playlist would be a little bit different...

Fourteen minutes of wasted time. Was management listening? I wouldn't doubt at all if someone at 96.1 are proud as peacocks that this stunt has brought such attention to their station's morning show.

How do we know that fat Cubby's not a pedophile?  This whole incident stinks big time!

I am not in the market, but what are the ratings of this show? Are they popular?

Not 14 minutes of wasted time, 14 more minutes of wasted time out of 24 wasted hours of broadcasting time on this worthless station.

Management is probably proud of this under the philosophy that there is no bad publicity.  This stunt was totally irresponsible and the whole crew deserves to be fired, no matter what the ratings are.

Maybe Clear Channel WANTS to fire the crew so they can save money and put on a syndicated show?
