First of all, did anyone see the latest trend? Is it as screwed up as the spring book was? Any comeback for sports or talk? Or SIX? And what is going on at the wolf? Are they still looking for "all dayparts?"

And now regarding KDF, let me get this straight:
The new morning show is a girl from Atlanta and a Titans radio intern, who will be the new MD. They got rid of Rick Marino, who had huge equity in Nashville for two unknowns? Why not put Coyote and Cathy back on the air? Or even Katie and Sherm? Whatever happened to them?

Poor Becca is still the glue holding what is left of that place together. I hope they are paying her well.

The new afternoon show is "five year Nashville radio vet" Jack Shell. (Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?)

They may all be the greatest talent to hit music city since Jerry House.  I don't know. Just asking.

And the "interim" PD continues to be the Cittadel ops mgr, and also runs Titans radio. How many stations in THAT network? 20? 30? 50? Yeah, he should have plenty of time to focus on KDF during the fall book. At least that explains the pick for the AM show, sort of. And how many years in an "interim?"

You gotta feel bad for the airstaff. As the infamous Dave Kelly stated in the press release, "We're continuing to build a station focused on the music and the listeners." Translation: our jocks are completely irrelevant and insignificant, plus corpporate won't let me have any more money for air talent because I have screwed this up so royally.

Coyote, Cathy, Katie, Sherm, Methuselah, or anyone else from Old Time Radio are going to skew old. Gerry House already does that. Your "girl from Atlanta", Wylie Rose, is the bright "all-country" radio host that KDF badly needed in the mornings. She was displaced in Atlanta only because Citadel had two country stations there and decided to take one to True Oldies. And David Reed is no unknown, he's known to listeners of KDF, the Zone, and Titans Radio. Both will skew young. And I believe it's a refreshing switch that Wylie will get top billing and David will be the sidekick/news/traffic person.

The new afternoon show is "five year Nashville radio vet" Jack Shell. (Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?)

C'mon, you don't know Jack! Jack's no five-year veteran... isn't it more like 10? Isn't it more like... more than that? He's one of the most recognized voices in town between his on-air and imaging work. Brings personality to an air shift as well.

He's no longer "interim". The man do have a lot of hats, don't he?

That would be 80+.

Actually that final clause should be: ... because I work for corporate radio!!

Jack Shell was on the air at 97.1 a few times, always short lived. Not an air guy, no way an air personality for country!
He provided some production mainly dubs. I believe most of the time he was on myspace telling all his friends what he had for lunch. I heard he worked in Clarksville for about a week and was let go by his former 97.1 boss.

I will say he provided some weird humor at his expense.

The idea that KDF staffed it's in station in one week with a bunch of unkowns is very odd and leads me to believe a big change for them is around the corner after football season. maybe ac?
