As I said earlier in the post, I believe Mighty Mike Osborne ran the morning show for a few weeks between the time Paul Perry left and when Dale started.  I would imagine they wouldn't install someone permanently into mornings for a few weeks until the "sting" of losing Uncle Dale wears off.

We may very well hear Karen on the morning show tomorrow or sometime soon but I'm also willing to bet we hear JJ, Mighty Mike, and any number of other Oldies jocks in the morning for the foreseeable future.  Didn't Karen and others fill in on the morning show earlier in the summer?  I know JJ did.

Well when it comes to making the airshift shuffle decisions..keep in mind, gang..this is a new era.  And if Program Directors still have any say in who's being hired for on-air: remember that the ship is now being steered by JayBeau Jones.  Things that Falconi may have been thinking may NOT be in JBJ's playbook.

For instance..Karen Blake was brought aboard by Falconi (a huge Karen Blake fan).  The earlier suggestion that she could be moved to mornings is a much hazier situation now, dependant upon how JayBeau may feel about her.

Here's a crazy thought--would the budgets not allow to take two of the station's major names; say Karen & JJ, and team them up..if Oldies 103.3 continues to be satisfied with both their on-air abilities ?

It probably would allow for it as they are already "saving" after first beaching Patrick and Jimmy Del Ponte earlier in the year and now Dale.

Using someone in-house would probably keep morale up as well rather than bringing in a "stranger" (known or unknown) from another station.   The problem is by teaming up two in-house people, you then have two shifts to fill rather than using one in-house person.  Unless they go the way of WROR with that horrible At Work Network thing from 10am to 3pm.   Roll Eyes

It's official, check out www.bostonradiowatch.com, Dale Dorman will not be doing morning at all anymore. No word on a replacement. June Knight is still shown on the Oldies 103.3fm website.

I heard a promo around 2:15 regarding the Secret Santa promo starting tomorrow morning (Monday) and WODS referring to itself, just like last year, as Boston's Holiday Music Station.  Nothing on the website about it.  They could very well go all-Christmas tomorrow morning at 5am.

Voluntarily or not, Dale got out just in time.  I'd quit if I had to play Christmas music for 3 months.   Grin

Do they have to go with a familiar Boston name or does anybody think Jaybeau will beckon Zito & Jen from WXLO?

Oye, its only September for crying out loud!

Somehow, one of my posts disappeared but I found it via my account so I'm copying and pasting it from there:

As already stated, WODS's Secret Santa promotion begins tomorrow (Monday Sept 15th).  I'm betting on some Christmas tunes mixed in to the regular format.  Unless some other station panics and decides to go all Christmas because of WODS.  Isn't that what happened last year??  WROR was actually planning on going all Christmas something like a week later or right after Thanksgiving but WODS jumped early on Nov 12th at 530am so WROR flipped at around 7am.

S0.....on WODS, a Christmas tune mixed in starting tomorrow.  Then early November, All Christmas, along with WROR, WSRS (Worcester), Magic 106.7 (mixed in over the air/all Christmas online).

You heard it here first.  Or second.

Do you think Zito and Jen could really cut through in Boston or would they be eaten alive?

I think they might be able to handle it, but they belong on JayBeau's Mix - not WODS.
