The afternoon gal Karen will be joining the morning show on WODS. She will be partnered with someone. Who will it be? Bruce Kelly from Miami or Bill Gardner from Phoenix or Dean Goss from San Francisco?

Or Ryan Seacrest, Lord knows he's doing everything else.

Hey Domino...... is that a fact. She seems happy with her present  slot. Who the hell wants to get up at 4 am everyday???  She has it made now. BUT  if the company wants her to do it, she may have no choice.

He's in his mid-60s, maybe 65.

Dale will end up someplace. He is too good and popular to sit at home. The geniuses at CBS  dont seem to know how to run things. They had all the talent they needed right there. The same shirts that thought David Lee Roth was a good idea  let Dale go. Maybe Oldies should blame their management and not the talent for bad ratings. They drive around in expensive cars but dont seem to know too much about radio. Being a  good sales person dosent qualify you for a GM position .  I dont know. It really shouldnt be that complicated.

Well, it sort of is complicated in this wacky world and this thing called business.

Bad product +  good sales people = good sales people leaving to sell good product, company forced to cut back or go out of business.
Good product + bad sales people =  company cut backs until it goes out of business.
Good product + good sales people + economy very bad + uncertain future + advancing technology+++ = more cut backs,
fasten your seatbelts, we're in for a bumpy ride.

We're headed for The Perfect Storm, not a pretty picture.
If this was a simple formula of hiring great talent and great sales people, it would be a done deal.

On a much brighter note, Dale Dorman is and always will be One Of THE BEST!    Smiley

The newspaper said 65.

(Just in time for full social security payments!)

I heard he landed somewhere out in Nevada or California so it probably is him.

Karen actually worked really well back when filling in for Dale on half-weeks with JJ. She had the knack for it and the slot enables her to chat more which, she sorta tried to do on the afternoon show-aimed at the ladies- but quieted down after a bit. This has been a totally mixed up week with Joe Cortez doing the morning show today in for Paula Street. They've gone to their "Oldies A-Z' suddenly, which is, like the Xmas tunes, a low maintenance affair. Another press story I read confirmed that Dale will be returning for "a Saturday show format" but didn't say when. Probably after they're through with the Xmas songs.
