Yeah, all this about Dale, etc sounds about right-all his decision, coupled with contract being up and health. He even quipped once, he found getting up at 3:30/4am to be in and on for 5:30, in all weathers, was a grind. Also his being off with a health condition for alot of weeks was probably and indicator for him to slow down and step back. Dale being the legend he is, was probably free to leave when he wanted and just chose last Friday to do so saying very little other than a quick thanks and "we won't be back Monday". Which is sort of why everything went so seat-of-the-pants Monday I imagine and their website was confusing. They'll prolly do what they did in the summer-JJ does half the week, maybe Karen Blake the other half. And eventually a morning show will return with someone with a bit of fanfare.
And, I'm betting indeed when the dust settles, Dale will be back for Saturdays, but a later slot and it'll be Oldies chance to say "The return of Dale Dorman on weekends!" or something. Maybe even before it goes all Xmas songs...and I have to admit, the holiday songs are just repetitive more than ever. A few gems but Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" over and over and...

As a kid listening to the BIG 68, Dale was the style I always tried to emulate in my days on the air... Upbeat, funny , always sounding happy....I wish him the best, thanks for all the great radio.....

I can't even imagine...only having to get up at 3:30am/4:00am for one year doing mornings myself..Dale kept it going at a fresh pace, and he did it a lot longer than I did...I wish the new morning show good luck, whomever that may be

Dale will end up someplace. He is too good and popular to sit at home. The geniuses at CBS dont seem to know how to run things. They had all the talent they needed right there. The same shirts that thought David Lee Roth was a good idea let Dale go. Maybe Oldies should blame their management and not the talent for bad ratings. They drive around in expensive cars but dont seem to know too much about radio. Being a good sales person dosent qualify you for a GM position . I dont know. It really shouldnt be that complicated.

Jay Beau Jones. I have been on the air with him before and called him Zebo at one point- hard to know exactly what he name was since everyone always said it so fast on air.
