It would be ridiculous to put KOGO on 95.7. The 95.7 signal is the worst FM Clear Channel owns in SD. 95.7 is highly directional, more so than 600 is. If they were to put the KOGO format on something it should be 101.5, 94.1 or 93.3, but right now all of those are making money, so for now KOGO will stay on 600. But put the XTRA sports on 95.7 that makes perfect since. Once Jeff and Jer leave 94.1, the station will be unusable and the station will be left in their wake (i.e. Y95, B100, Q106, Star 100.7). Then they can put the right call letters on 94.1, and it can be KOGO-FM again and news talk can be on both of the blowtorch signals. But all of this hinges on Jeff and Jer leaving, then talk will work on FM. Plus thank God Jeff and Jer and their mindless dribble will be off the air finally!

I do agree with David Eduardo talk will work on FM, but put it on as good of a signal as KOGO is not a dog like 95.7.

Now does Clear Channel have any history of simulcasting an AM frequency on an FM frequency?

David Eduardo called that one correctly
David Eduardo is a freaking genius!!!!!

Seriously, are T & K out?  The station is slumping...Clear Channel is a changin' -- is it time to bring in Duncan & Mel?

Garrett -- thoughts please.....

My thought is:
I cannot comment because 1. I do not live in San Diego and 2. I do not have the same information that the program directors of KOGO or KFMB have. Only they know.

That is my thought.

Next?

My guess is that we have heard the last of them on a CC station. Wonderers are wondering if they will be country much longer. I hope they find a new country home here. The exodus of very good people continues.

They are still heard on ads on 95.7 - last week they had Linda Welby and some guy named Mike filling in and today they have some squeaky-voiced "cabana boy" guy doing the show: he sounds like he'd appeal to the cowboys of Brokeback Mountain and it is very much bottom-of-the-barrel radio.

New morning show: Mike and Linda ..... T&K missing from web page.

That's great (well not for T&K) but I am a big fan of Linda Welby. I worked with her at the Planet when she was forced to use the name Joan Welby on the morning show. That show never quite came together for various reasons, but Linda was sharp, glib and witty and probably would have doubled the ratings (or more) if they'd just fired the rest of us. Someday radio managers will once again realize that you can actually have a winning morning show with just one talented personality you don't always needs teams, casts, posses, helper boys, "producers" who sound like high school kids, gofers who do stupid stunts, etc.

In the meantime, I wish Mike and Linda well and if Mike is smart he will ensure it is the Linda and Mike show.

Well, I guess sooner or later........

I worked with these guys for ten (I think) years, and there were good times and bad times, but we ended our working relationship with appreciation for each other.  I used to mix the live acts that would perform in studio and one of the funniest events that ever occurred involved a particularly popular artist of the time.  He had been told that a lucky listener had won the right to have him sing a song to her live on air.  In walked a tall, gorgeous blond woman in a very sexy sun dress, and as our artist got about a minute into his song, she dropped her top and showed her McGuffies.  Those of us in the room were in hysterics but our artist never missed a beat, although he was a bit red in the face.  This was of course set up by T&K.  The woman was a stripper.

There were many great artists that came on the show, and it was always a gas doing everything I could to make it work in a live situation with minimal gear.

These boys did good in San Diego.  They came in as inexperienced Alabama rubes and grew through the years.  In all of the morning shows I dealt with, they might have been the most trouble at times, but they were also the most fun for me personally.  They'll land somewhere.

Good luck T&K.  You guys still $uk.

How often do you think they've kicked themselves for leaving KSON? Clear Channel from the start never had any goal other than using that KUSS to nibble at KSON's numbers and they never had a chance of seriously taking on KSON.
