There are obviously postings here from people who have absolutely no personal or professional knowledge about Tony and Kris, or the situation at CC.  The comment about being over-rated and spending half as much time prepping as trying to get pictures in the trades couldn't be farther from the truth.  I know it's rare in this business, but there are genuinely nice people without all the ego, out there, and Tony and Kris are at the top of that list.  They don't have to try to get in the trades, the trades come to them, because they are so easy to work with and are down to earth, honest, and up front guys, and as far as show prep, they do as much or more than most other guys.  Now you may be speaking only from what you've heard lately on the air, but what you may not know is how CC management has been stifling and holding them back.  They have not been allowed to be in complete control for some time now, so don't blame them, or blindly chalk it up to them not having talent, (being bad).
After I heard about this going on, I thought, the station is planning to get rid of them and probably will change formats, yet again, to what, who knows, and sure enough an old friend in the record business sent me the following inside info:

Bob Bolinger to be out as GM of Clear Channel and replaced by Brad Samuel (at a reduced salary)
Two other P.D's to be out at Clear Channel, other P.D's will pick up extra stations.
...and just as I thought...
95.7 to go all Xmas music starting Nov. 20 until Jan. for launch of new format.  UNLESS new format is not ready, then it will simulcast Xtra Sports until new format is ready.
Tony and Kris will surface in a familiar place by Thanksgiving???
Chris Cantore in talks with CC again?

Obviously, CC has more issues going on than not getting their act together with Tony and Kris.  So before you speak badly about anyone, make sure you do a little research, or have some first hand knowledge about the people you speak of.

Hey guys there was a post from someone named Mad Man Mike? he has only posted once. And if it who I think it is he hated Tony and Kris from the beginning. Tony and Kris are two of the best people in radio. And It was Mike O'Brian that held them back. His vision of the perfect country station is country with a KyXy twist. "More Soft Country and lots of it next on the new U.S. 95.7 or is it New Country this week"? Mike is about as country as techno music is! Oh there we go a new format for CC to try Country-Techno. I can just hear it now Loretta Lynn's new album "If you're lookin at me you're lookin at thumpin" Now if you want someone that knows country talk to Mike Shepherd he has forgotten more of how to program country than anyone at 95.7 has ever known.

I say to all of you that Mad Man Mike is none other than Mike O'Brian!!!!

....and the CC saga continues.   What could possibly happen next?Huh

From a very reliable source:
News/Sports on FM took a step forward yesterday.  Contrary to speculations this wouldn't happen, meetings are taking place to make 95.7FM at Clear Channel the home for Xtra Sports with KOGO news updates!  AM Xtra Sports will flip to another format or will be sold.

.....and I'm sure there is more to come.

Here is the best thing to do with 95.7 are all of you ready?Huh?

TURN IT OFF AND SAVE THE POWER BILL! Retune the transmitter for 94.1 and give that station matching transmitters. Sell the antenna to the recycler, and give the directional license to a college like City College to put Jazz on!

Take the tax break from the license and run, it will be the best thing CC can do with that signal.

And CC if you do something with 95.7 do the right thing this time, and DON'T LET MIKE O'BRIAN NEAR IT!! IT MIGHT TAKE OFF AND DO SOMETHING IF HE IS NOT THERE!!!!

Although a while back I seem to remember saying something about putting the sports on 95.7, but I would simulcast the AM and the FM for a while until the 0.4 listeners move to the FM.

But stand by for La Ranchera 1360 Country de Espanol. Please note I know my Spanish is terrible.

Actually 95.7 is trending up, they had one of their best trends ever. Although I heard a lot of it is due to a spike in the month of September.
