Has anyone gotten word on the next format for WYDE?

I'm putting my faith in a SE Asian format...  All Bollywood, All The Time!  Cheesy

With Crawford...that might not be too far off base.  Cheesy

I'm still waiting for the day I wake up and find WDJC residing on the 101.1 frequency. Crazy? It sure is/would be. Remember they have been playing "ping pong" with several of the calls and formats on the Birmingham stations the past few years. With those folks, anything's possible.

Unless something's changed, that's kinda already happened.  I was told that WDJC-FM was on 101.1's HD-2 channel.  Wink

BTW... What the heck is WYDE doing now, anyway?  I see Laura Ingraham listed on their website so that tells me talk, but she's the only personality listed. Are they still doing music when she's not on?  Huh

They're doing music right now.  Maybe it's gonna be a music/talk mix.  The new mix 101.

That may be true about WDJC being on the 101.1 HD-2 channel. Seems like I read that online somewhere. My question is...why are they running WDJC on 101.1 HD-2 instead of 93.7 HD-2? Wouldn't that make more sense since most stations run their HD-2 stations on the same frequency as the analog? Maybe it's something beyond my knowledge. I can't say whether WDJC is on 101.1 HD-2, because, as most Americans, I don't own an HD radio. I think it's a big waste of money.

And as far as the programming goes, Laura Ingraham is the only talk program that's been added to WYDE's lineup; the rest of the day it's music, except for a few talk programs on Saturday mornings which I think WYDE was already airing. I was wondering if WYDE was headed back to talk since the Laura Ingraham show was added, thinking maybe Crawford was going to slowly phase in more talk programming, and the station would eventually go all talk. It could be, though, they've added the show as a temporary measure to fill that time slot vacated by Burt and Kurt until they get the new format in place, whatever that might be.

WDJC is on 93.7 HD, so there's no need to relay it again on the HD-2.

I believe WDJC's HD-2 relays WXJC 92.5.  What they're doing is using the HD-2 channel to extend the coverage of their other stations...  WXJC on 93.7-2, WDJC on 101.1-2...

Not that anyone's listening. Wink
