I just went to 820 WWBA's website, and unde the program schedule (http://www.wwba1040.com/Programs/ProgramSchedule.aspx), there was a blank space between 9am and noon weekdays. Was the local host WWBA had on there was cancelled? Is Laura Ingraham (who WWBA just added late at night 11PM-2AM) taking the local guy's spot?

When Dan York signed off on Friday he said he'd be back Monday.  I hope he is.  I'm starting to like his show.

Putting Laura Ingraham in that slot would be a huge mistake.  They would be far better keeping Larsen's board op there now.  I wont swear to it, but I think that website slot has been empty since they dumped Boortz.  For those that cant live without Laura Ingraham, her first 2 hours are live on 1280 out of Sarasota.  Weak in Tampa St. Pete, but if you need a Laura fix, then you can listen there.

This morning York had his best hour yet from 9 - 10 a.m. He took a local topic (Pinellas School system's anti-bullying policy) and used it as a vehicle to tell playground stories from school. Lots of calls. Although I disagree totally with his take, I commend his finding an easily relatable topic and running with it. Good to see
a young talent grow -- heck, good to see any talent get any chance to grow in talk radio these days.

Agreed...I think we have seen the end of days where stations can afford to be live and local all day but its' great to see someone getting a chance to hone their craft...especially in a top 20 market!

WWBA is starting to turn it around...Live and local mornings and then quality syndicated product in the afternoon...might not be bad to switch Miller and York put local in pm drive.

I've though the same thing, why not put a local yakker in the p.m. drive, like leading talk stations in Dallas (KLIF) and Kansas City (KMBZ) do?
Perhaps Dro thought of this but thought the "metro sexual" over on Gandy was too big to touch.
