« Reply #520 on: November 18, 2009, 12:20:00 AM »

Scuse me, correction,  it was "Plaid Light Bulbs!".  Cool
Stupid, not really ..that's the second best one on the album...there's some REAL groaners on there like
the "Kookie Cha-Cha-Cha".

"This is your love-burger from the other A-M.  Dig?"

 Bueno.

We need to have an all Kookie weekend on KAZG! Have Edd Byrnes stop by the Lumberyard studios and he can spin all his hit songs. Instead of a legal ID at the top of the hour, he can play "Kookie, Kookie Lend me Your Comb" every hour. Along with "Kookie's Mad Pad," he could play "Like I Love You," "I Don't Dig You, Kookie," "Hot Rod Rock," "Saturday Night on Sunset Strip," "Kookie Cha Cha Cha," "Kookie's Clock," "You're the Top," "Square Dance for Round Cats," "'A' You're Adorable (The Alphabet Song)" and "Kookie's Boogie." That would be the ginchiest weekend ever!  Cool

But when would KAZG do the legal ID...at sign-on and sign-off?

Yeah, like that'll ever happen! Grin

Perhaps Lumberyard 14~Forty could get us in the holiday spirit by presenting their version of A Christmas Carol at the downtown Scottsdale Kiva.  Playing the role of Scrooge would be none other than Edd "Kookie" Byrnes with guest appearances by Dave "Baby" Cortez, Little Eva, The Trashmen, and perennial local fave Prrrrreston Westmoreland.  Admission is $14.40 and guests are invited to bring their raincoats and stay for a couple of reels from the Kiva Hall of Fame!

Somewhat of a shocker, I actually heard another Edd Byrnes song on the Lumberyard today around 1:20 P.M. that wasn't "Kookie, Kookie Lend Me Your Comb." When I first heard it, I had no idea what song it was because I've never heard the song played before on 1440 or anywhere else for that matter. Then, at the end, Edd Byrnes gave it away by saying something like "the time on Kookie's Clock." I was shocked. I have to say that hearing "Kookie's Clock" would be my first ever "Oh Wow Moment" on the Lumberyard. Usually, I only have that happen while listening to the 50's on 5 or the 60's on 6 on satellite radio. My question is was that song I heard actually "Kookie's Clock," a song that never charted on the Billboard Hot 100? I've tried to Google the lyrics to the song but no site seems to have it. So, for now, it's an unconfirmed drive-by fruiting! Still, I think we have found the Lumberyard's other artist obsession besides Ol' Blue Eyes.

WARNING! Edd Byrnes is taking over the Lumberyard! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!  Shocked

Thanks oldiesfan! That's indeed the song I heard today on the Lumberyard. I've NEVER heard them play it before. To be honest, the song is kind of Kookie-sounding!

After hearing that nugget dug out from the Goldmine, it makes me wonder if someone over at KAZG actually does read this thread!

...and they do!  That explains why Nurse Czarina Jeff and I never receive an Xmas card from Gumpdusky.  We are definitely not the ginchiest!

Now riddle us this, ASUJorgeUno: Was it Connie Stevens or that three foot deep reverb that made Edd "Kookie" Burns sing so well?
