I noted on two different TV newscasts yesterday, amid the jumble of microphones pointed at interviewees and stacked on podiums, that the KCBS mikes now bear freshly-minted flags with "KCBS 106.9" on them.

Although different angles were shown, I couldn't see a side with "KCBS 740" on them.

Not saying they didn't have 'em. Just saying I didn't see 'em.

It's called "marketing."

What "was" is not "now."

It's called "marketing."

What "was" is not "now."

But I figure that I'm maybe one of a dozen six three people anywhere that noticed this, counting the people at KCBS. If it's part of their marketing plan, I'd be surprised.

More like:

BOSS: "While we're on the subject, let's get new mike flags with 106.9 on them."

FLUNKY: "I'll get right on it, sir."

I had a conversation this morning during which this topic came up. Nowhere else on Earth is this being discussed.
