Greg Dodson Passing
« on: November 24, 2008, 05:22:34 PM »

Greg Dodson was found dead yesterday at his home. I am not sure of his radio history just that he spent time at Metro, flew the small blimp in the Summit and had recently worked at Houston Transtar.

His Visitation is tomorrow at Memorial Forest (Forest Park) Westheimer location at 5:00pm-8:00pm and the funeral is Wednesday at 10:00 am at the same location.

12800 Westheimer at Dairy Ashford.

If you would like, please add some of his radio history with us.

Greg worked in the KLOL Promotions department in the late 80's/early 90's (I don't recall the exact years).

I believe Greg worked in KLDE promotions for a while as well, but I don't recall the years..  If I remember correctly it was when we had our "Jukebox" trailer... one morning after an event, he pulled away from an event with the mast still up and took out a redlight on Richmond ave.

Didn't know the guy, but I'm sure I've talked to him at Houston Transtar before...thoughts and prayers to his natural family and his radio family.  (I got this via email, and don't have the link...likely can be credited to www.legacy.com):

JOSEPH GREGORY "GREG" DODSON left this earth to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, November 23, 2008.

I never met Greg, but I know I replaced him at KLDE in '95.  He drove our van into a gas station....with the marti still up.  It didn't end well.

Maybe that is what I was thinking of instead of taking out a red light... then again, he could have done both.  I believe he also worked security for Astroworld for a few seasons after leaving KLDE.

Excuse me for asking, but was Greg Dodson the same guy who used the air name 'Grego" at KLOL and some other places?  Please tell me they were not the same person.
