Just about everybody has alternative names for people, places, businesses, and such. Some are well-established by others and used by everybody.
Here are some of mine:

McDonald's - McDougal's
L.A. Daily News - The Daily Snooze
L.A. Dodgers - L.A. Tax Dodgers
Burger King - Booger King
NBC - National Biscuit Company
The Super Bowl - The Blooper Bowl
The World Series - The Whirled Series

L.A. Daily News - The Daily Snooze

here in NY, they call our Daily News by that same name... Cool

I'm pretty certain I know the name you can't post.  Wink FWIW, in the first MASH book, in the part where the 4077th is forming the unit football team, there's an off-handed reference to "The Green Bay Pachederms".  Smiley

There is a nearby suburban community college (Volunteer State C. C.) sometimes referred to as "Harvard on the Highway" or "U.S.C.--the Univesity of Sumner County". Campus has a nice little radio station WVCP.
