Give The Eagles a break.... "Please Come Home For Christmas" isn't so bad.  Same for "Christmas Cannon" by Manheim Steamroller.

1) "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" - Spike Jones recorded this back in the '40s - but i would put it at the top of my list (if i had one) of "worst Christmas songs"...Smiley
2) "May You Always" - Harry Harrison - you've got to be a New Yorker to understand the significance of this one being played...Cool i am and i do...Smiley
3) "Celebrate Me Home" - Kenny Loggins - i just heard this on CBSFM for the FIRST time this year - i pretty much fell in love with it, so...Smiley

i guess it's ALL a matter of individual taste...Cool

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!   Andrea

I like Spike Jones's version of All I want for Christmas... and Stan Freberg's version of Nuttin' for Christmas, but I'll admit most kiddie versions of them are pretty bad.

Mentioning Freberg's version of Nuttin' for Christmas made me think of a question I've had. In every copy of the song I've heard there is a gap of a second or so about 50 seconds in after the line "I tied a knot in Susie's hair..." Was this from a live broadcast, or was this because of a gap in the master recording? any ideas?

Let's not forget "Silent Night" by Stevie Nicks.  I love Fleetwood Mac and Stevie's solo stuff, but this one pretty much make me cringe and writhe in pain.

"Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" has got to be the biggest piece of holiday crap ever recorded...awful lyrics, cheesy music.  It's one of those songs that get stuck in your head after you hear it.  And this is the best thing Paul could come up with for Christmas?  I'm mean come on, the guy is an ex-freakin'-Beatle for crying out loud!

calm down, D, calm down! Smiley but seriously, though, i gotta come to the defense of my fellow vegetarian (that Paul is) on this one - since 1970, Paul has been like the 800-pound elephant, 'cos he can go anywhere and do ANYTHING HE WANTS!! yeah, i realize he's an ex-freakin' Beatle, but as far as i'm concerned (and i'm NOT even a Beatles fan), if Sir Paul wants to record what he wants to record, LET HIM!! and as for "Wonderful Christmas Time" and the fact that he recorded it nearly 30 years ago...to quote another Beatles song, "Let It Be"... Cool
