So what was the deal with Ruth 66?

She's back because she's geting paid anyway?

Or did Dave make a deal with Clear Channel to get her back?

She's a daily guest on the show; and despite the browbeating that CCU is giving the show; Dave pays the freight for the station.

DSC is one of the best male-targetted morning shows I've heard in a lot of markets.  Dave and Chainsaw are very talented.  But CC removing Ruth and Bromo, only leaves "D" and "C" to make fun of Boyer.  I still can't believe they laid off Bromo, they weren't paying him that much.  DSC needed to dig into thier own pockets to bring Ruth back.  Honestly, if CC wanted to save some serious coin without doing much to hurt the show, they should have blown out Shelley.  Talk about way overpaid for what she contributes to the show, and out the door everyday at 10:05am.

She's the giggler.....

I always figured she was one of the luckiest people in San Diego radio having been able to tag along with the rest of the group from station to station.

Shocked Shelley adds value to the show. She's the left side of the house, and does contribute. That can be discussed elsewhere, but she puts the 'S' in DSC. Err, you hopefully pick up on that.

Actually what is a disappointment is the slow realization that radio, newspapers, and television are doing the circle drain thing. February brought an end to FM talk radio in LA -- that was profitable, but not as profitable as music.

Same thing with Star 100.7. It was top rated, but had an expensive payment in talent. The profit margins as Jack is better. Even with the morning show earning one million, the rest of the day belongs to the voice in the head ... voice of Jack. The station lost the bragging rights to being number one; but is more profitable than before. Star 100.7 was starting to tarnish; and it was a 'good' exit strategy.
