Actually what is a disappointment is the slow realization that radio, newspapers, and television are doing the circle drain thing. February brought an end to FM talk radio in LA -- that was profitable, but not as profitable as music.
Same thing with
Star 100.7. It was top rated, but had an expensive payment in talent. The profit margins as Jack is better. Even with the morning show earning one million, the rest of the day belongs to the voice in the head ... voice of Jack. The station lost the bragging rights to being number one; but is more profitable than before. Star 100.7 was starting to tarnish; and it was a 'good' exit strategy.
