If that story is true about Rush paying a 1/2 mil for the use of that song, then there is at least one liberal who's seeing the free market and capitalism at work as he benefits from Rush's popularity and his need for bumper music creating a cash cow for this liberal musician.

It does show some open mindedness of Rush that he chose the music, because he liked it and felt it would be the right music for his show and chose to ignore the fact that the musicians involved were liberals.  He could have just as easily found some music written by a conservative and gave he/she the opportunity to turn their song into a cash cow.  But, at least in this case, Rush chose art over politics.

Does anyone know Laura Inghrams theme song/bumper music artist?  Fuzz guitar, and "hoop hoop" ...is that Devo?  I'm surprised she doesn't use the "Singing Nuns."

Haven't heard her show for a couple years, but I think the song you're talking about is "Island In The Sun" by Wheezer.

that's it, by weezer, I noticed the over cuts on the album (by Geffen Records) include "Hash Pipe" and "Pink Triangle" - where would conservative radio be without "Hollywood" churning out their bumper/theme music?

Rush should use Tina Turner's "Private Dancer".

Anyone else see the irony of Limbaugh using a song by a group called the 'Pretenders' as his theme?

How appropriate.

I find it ironic that "My City Was Gone" was a song about deregulation and the gutting of America's heartland by
corporations following the path of least resistance to maximize profits, and how it destroyed the old America where hard work was rewarded, not exploited.

There's a great Modern Rock group known as The Right Brothers who sell CD's by mail order.  They are professional CD's, not cheap CD-R's.  They do songs like "Bush Was Right", "Stop Global Whining!" "Im In Love With Ann Coulter" and "Shut Up and Teach", which is about college professors who preach their political gospel instead of teaching the course material properly.  Ted Nugent is a rather right-wing fellow.  Maybe Rush should use some of these artists music.  How would an instrumental segment from Ted's "Cat Scratch Fever" go over?
