CBS Changes announced today
« on: May 15, 2009, 04:02:47 PM »

Lots of activity at Greenway today as CBS makes moves in back office, sales management and talent.  Apparently Hot didn't monitize the positive ratings results, so the Hot GSM is toast.  Mix GSM now Mix LSM.  New DOS, a Purdy import from Dallas, is now also GSM for both Hot and Mix.

I was surprised by the move of Dave Morales to PM drive on KHMX.  Dave is an extremely talented jock who has become identified with Hot 95.7 since their debut.  He was their first on air talent.  Dave's been making a ton of appearances on behalf of Hot as he is, in essence the public face of Hot.  Now, they have shifted that equity to Mix.  If it translates, smart move.  If not, they cause problems on both stations.  Mornings on Mix "will be announced soon".  Possibly Kraddick?  Or a local show?  Their decision on the Hot morning show and execution is still questionable about a year later.   Roula and Ryan have nothing to fear from Hot in mornings.  Watching CBS maneuver Mix will be fun.  Unless your living and career depends on KHMX.  Time will tell.  After all, these are the same folks who operate KILT.  Any questions?

Let the Mix morning show debate begin.

Maybe H & H will cross over and take the Mix Morning Show's helm.   Wink

David Barron details the changes.

Never good to see anyone lose their jobs.  610 is reeling from bad economy/1560 having a better product.

No mention of Michelle in the trade press that I read.  Let's hope she's safe.

Do you really think they will move H&H to Mix or bring back Sam Malone?

I was surprised to hear Keith Scott on the air this afternoon.

I heard an interview with Sam Malone after he was let go by MIX in November, and he said his morning numbers were very high for the target demo. I wonder if that is the plan, trying him and Michelle Fisher again.

I hope CBS keeps a live morning show, rather than go to a syndication like Kraddick. I am glad to see Dave Morales move to MIX. It is a step in the right direction. CC did nothing for this station long before the decision was made to trade it to CBS.

Who needs Sam Malone?  John Lander, John Rio and Jackie Robbins for mornings on KHMX!

BTW, I'm sorry to see Bill Van Rysdam let go.  I always enjoyed working with that guy.  Best of luck, Bill!
