Pittsburgh Penguins to add their own HD2 station

News from over at the Pittsburgh board.  I'm all for any new ideas in programming on HD, but can any sports team program an entire day on an HD2 or any other station, particularly during the off-season?

Has there been any other news on the ESPN programming feed that was announced as specifically geared towards HD Radio?  I know that they have their own FCC-licensed experimental HD station (WX4ESPN-98.1) at their Bristol HQ.

Chicago has an all Auto Racing HD3 station, WUSN-HD3.  A great idea but poorly executed by CBS.  They repeat the same 3 hour block of talk shows all week long, except for live racing events.

The HD3 station only carries talk shows produced by PRN (Performance Racing Network) and IMS Radio Network (Indianapolis Motor Speedway), and they have nothing from MRN (Motor Racing Network) which produces the best shows.

The station does not air all of the live races which are available.  They have a lousy locally-produced show that sounds like a high-school station. 

Why don't they air all races?  Why don't they repeat old races during the week?  Why don't they carry the MRN talk shows?  Why not do a live local show every day with a host that sounds professional?

Now that the Pens are in the Finals again maybe the subchannel will work out.....until everyone fires up their grills and forgets about hockey until October.

I've gotta wonder how HD subs work in Pittsburgh's famously rugged terrain.  I know from years of personal experience in that market that robust analog Class B FM signals have enough of a challenge covering all of the market reliably.
