Yeah they cut out the 11pm hour (Magnum PI) two weeks ago.  Ironically this was the only hour of programming I liked.
I also understand the economics of the situation, but I don't really know what they were expecting considering there was no promoting of RTV.  And other RTV affiliates nationwide seem to be doing well as the network keeps expanding on the number of affiliates.  I just think WSAH botched this one up.

RTV made some outlandish promises they could not deliver on.  Any attempt to work with them was either ignored or bullied away (take note of the OnePhone ad, this is the personality running the show).  I requested promotional materials repeatedly, FCC REQUIRED reports for the public affairs, FCC REQUIRED announcements for kid's changes, etc.  When I went over this person's head, after my complaints and requests were ignored for the final time, I was actually yelled at for going over his head.

They swore they aired locally sold advertisements on our LA station, but the aircheck recordings say different.  This is a HUGE deal, as we don't watch the stations 24/7, we count on the as-run log and the relative reliability of the automation system to swear "yes it aired" to the client.  When confronted with this, they ignored it.  When I went to the owner, I got "oops, sorry".

RTV is plagued with technical issues, of which they cannot or will not correct.  Such things as lipsync, skipping shows, server crashes, satellite receiver crashes and poor audio quality and levels.  I have attempted to advise them on numerous occasions, well... see above.  Any station who carries RTV on their main, stops shortly after.  They only "expand" into digital subchannels, where it costs nothing to add them.

I urge you to read their Facebook fan page, where there are numerous complaints, which go ignored and unaddressed.

So sorry to hear things with RTV are going South. Are you guys stuck in a long-term contract with them or can you terminate it? Going back to Infomercials if you pull the plug entirely?

Does WSAH currently have any subchannels?  If not, could they create a subchannel, put RTV on there, and continue to run other programming on the main channel?

Wow...sorry to hear you are having all of those problems.  You'd think they'd be chomping at the bit to work with major market (and rimshot) affils.  Sounds extremely unprofessional.

As far as a WSAH subchannel goes...obviously it is feasible, but good luck getting cable/satellite carriage.  The "must carry" status of WSAH only applies to its main signal, not to digital subchannels.  So, a subchannel would only benefit OTA...which is not all that pervasive in the NY area.

Bummer...

While Ron didn't say for sure in his above response, I wonder if WSAH is getting read to pull the plug. Paid Programming was listed on my mom's COX On-Screen Guide during all time-slots RTV programming was on WSAH last night.
