Today, 97.5 is broadcasting snippets of songs with a quick number announced inbetween each snippet.  I wish I was local to hear it--it's very entertaining!  The selection of songs is all over the place--Coldplay to rap to Bob Dylan to lounge singers to Springsteen to Enya.  I don't know what the numbers mean, if anything.

Once their "Feliz Navidad" loop settles down, my sources tell me that the station will be a Spanish/Tropical format.

I know these guys at Red Wolf.  They can barely speak English right, why in the world would they do Spanish?  I would place my bet on some brand extension for MRQ.

I heard that 97.5 blasting out Feliz Navidad last night. It was coming in crystal clear and in stereo behind the Kohl's on New Britain Avenue in Plainville.

They're still doing the numbers and snippets thing at 2 PM Friday. Strange!

I don't know, I think I speak English pretty well and I don't know you since you are using a phony name.

I know these guys at Red Wolf better than you, and we haven't needed an interpreter to decipher our English yet.

As a translator, doesn't it have to rebroadcast an existing nearby signal?  Assuming that's true, what station will they be rebroadcasting?

Paul

The license for the translator says the primary station is WMRQ, which means it is most likely going to be rebroadcasting WMRQ-HD2, a future HD2 Spanish station.
