ALLEGEDLY... CBS Radio continues to get hit with Law Suits ranging from sexual, race and others. How long can CBS allow operation incompetence to go on. The May numbers for WQYK were down at least 400 to 500 hundred thousand dollars off budget. Looks like some really bad decisions have be made and New York ( Dan Mason ) needs to get in here and clean house like he should have the first time. We put all are chips on WQYK to save us and now it seems WQYK is the cancer that was killing us all along!

I have no idea who is filing what, but it is not that unusual for companies that have let a lot of people go, to get hit with suits from those who felt like they were unjustly dismissed and look for reasons to get back at their former employers.

Let's be real.  WQYK down at least $400k-$500k off budget?  That's a lot of money.  Two things here .... maybe budget was unrealistic and needed to be revised and lowered because of the slow economy or sales staff is not selling.  One more possible reason ... retailers are not spending in advertising?

Regarding the lawsuits, that is very interesting to hear.  I heard they let go several people a few months ago, but if it's for economy the reason they downsized, then a lawsuit won't fit.  Many companies are downsizing and merging (more responsibility and same pay).  So, how can someone then file a lawsuit?

I believe it came out in the newspapers that they let go a lot of people but it was because of the economy.

At the station level you cannot always see the manner in which corporate levels deal with some situations; usually  subtly, discreetly and with grace, class and dignity.  The bad actors and actresses are suddenly either irrelevant or gone, with clean and new emerging to make all well.

Typically station management knows long before anyone makes an allegation that they have a problem person out front, and a few who are not right out there.  For the most part they just figure nobody is paying attention to them anyway, they know they are small potatoes in the big scheme of things, they work it and take pride in being small with success, the problem people do not gripe about their cheap wages, because they are getting graft or other not so savory gratis from somewhere else; and the station knows that when they are finished milking them for all they can get the problem people are out the door anyway.

The problem comes eventually for the station - or network - that has a comeuppance they were not counting on, from a direction they did not anticipate.  I once heard a station let such a situation roll on for seven years, and then one day when it was too late they made a bad apple just go away.  It was not long before their call was moved lower on the dial, and then one day they simply were no more.  Since then nothing has succeeded for very long in its place.

Kinda puts me in mind of the walls of Jericho.   Cheesy
