On the heels of the shows 20th anniversary I was wondering when they decided not to do the show live in the studio. My guess would be due to Harvey being on all week for 6 hour shifts during the day. Was it Harvey's decision to just voicetrack it or the station?

I think it was voice-tracked even since it came back on after being taken off of the air.  I'm sure Holiday can put the show together in a lot less time and just mix his voice with the songs.  The only time I recall it ever being live is when Tommy McCarthy is doing the show.  It's still a great show but would be even better with live interaction, instant requests, interviews, and spotlights like before.  But that will never happen again.

It enough having the show on itself - hearing doo wop on a major market FM is scarce, and its always a treat hearing Holiday do his thing. Live or Memorex, he still does a great job.

Too bad they can't put some reverb on the mic and REALLY rewind the R&R clock.
