We bought an ipod touch to test our listening applications.  On that note, yes it works, however I would put in the viewport code so the page zooms in automatically on the device; and also you no longer need to make a special script for playing mp3 streams, with iphone os v3 there is native playback so just link to your shoutcast server's pls.
