I just hope it isn't another syndicated morning show. It's getting harder and harder to find a local station that actually plays songs on the radio. Don't they understand that listeners want to know the weather, what's happening locally, and to connect with our station and radio personalities?

Music radio listeners want their favorite song, weather, maybe some local info, which would be great if delivered by a local DJ.

Too much DJ chatter (which plagues morning radio, even with local shows) turns them off. If you get a local DJ that connects with the audience, that is gold... however, that tends to be more of a nice surprise to the listener than something they are actually looking for.

J.D. Patrick had this concept down with his "More Music in the Morning Show" on KKTX before his passing. Chatter between him and his news person was kept to a minimum, he didn't drone on and on about what he had for breakfast, newscasts were 96 seconds, and weather was prominently featured, all while spinning your favorite rock classics (lots of Stones, Zepplin, Aerosmith and Floyd). Contrast that with the crap on most rock radio mornings today.

There is always The Breeze, with the exception of Nudge @ Nite, they have live bodies on the mic.

Glad to see Rodd coming back. Always enjoyed hearing him. Wonder why PM drive and not a live and local AM drive? Do they really think Tesh is going to hold the mornings post-Moreland?

I know Rod always wanted a crack at the morning show but I guess with all the satellite competition they decided to go in that direction. Oh well let's all face it, the radio industry is different now....not bad just different. If we as professionals and lovers of broadcasting want to be apart of that very special world we have to go with the flow. Once again welcome back Rod! Oh by the way, please excuse some misspellings in my earlier post....never drink and type.  lol lol  PEACE!

Count me in the list that is glad to see Rodd come back in the afternoons. Just what I wanted to hear, a friendly familiar voice that clicks with the listeners! The only chink in the armor is that it's not in the mornings....
