I went to the Best Buy in Meriden, they looked it up and showed it as backordered and told me no one in New England has it right now. The guy there told me the only way to get it right now is to order it online.

How about everyone who reads this go to the Meriden Best Buy and inquire about it, maybe they will get the hint regarding demand for this unit and stock it.

I just bought the only one they had in stock at the Best Buy location at Westfield Shoppingtown, a.k.a. Meriden Mall. I'm charging its internal lithium ion battery now, which you have to do via a USB 2.0 connection (computer, etc.). At least using a line jack is an option I'll have here. Anyways, I'll post my findings at a later time.

OK...I'm not using the supplied headphones. Ear buds hurt too much! Anyways, what am I getting in New Britain's south end? Here:

WWYZ-92.5  Waterbury/Hartford (Country) [HD 1 simulcast of 92.5]
WZMX-93.7  Hartford (Hip Hop) [HD 1 simulcast of 93.7 | HD 2 is Reggaeton]
WKSS-95.7  Hartford/Meriden (CHR) [HD 1 simulcast of 95.7 | HD 2 is Hartford's Fabulous 95.7]
WTIC-96.5  Hartford (Hot AC) [HD 1 simulcast of 96.5 | HD 2 WTIC-AM 1080 simulcast | HD 3 is a few seconds behind HD 2]
WPLR-99.1  New Haven (Rock) [HD 1 simulcast of 99.1]
WRCH-100.5  New Britain/Hartford (AC) [HD 1 simulcast of 100.5 | HD 2 is Jazz]
WDRC-102.9  Hartford (Classic Hits) [HD 1 Simulcast of 102.9 | HD 2 is 50s and 60s]
WMRQ-104.1  Waterbury/Hartford (Modern Rock) [HD 1 simulcast of 104.1 | HD 2 at low volume, playing what's presently being heard on the Bolton translator on 97.5 FM]
WHCN-105.9  Hartford (AC) [HD 1 simulcast of 105.9 | HD 2 is Forgotten Favorites]

A few of the non-HD stations were at least transmitting song/artist information while WJMJ-88.9 Hartford scrolled their web address. Their was this dark orange looking infinity 8 symbol at the top whenever that was present.

I knew if I kept being a pain and inquiring at each Best Buy, that they'd eventually stock them, ok, Meriden is out, I guess I will have to hun it down in the morning.

Interesting thing on 104.1 HD-2, reminds me of the old "Quick 96" stunting they did on KJR in Seattle. If I remember correctly, they posted the lists of songs by the numbers on the website, I wonder if 104 is doing the same.

These numbered tracks are used in audience research if I remember the posts about it at the time.

Being an HD subchannel, the quality on WMRQ-FM HD2 is terrible.

well if we ever go to 10% HD power I will get to enjoy K-rock in CT outside of NYC. with 1% it comes in greenwich ct but drops out like a SOB. (all the time) the bad thing is I am guessing with more IBOC I will not get 104.1 or 106.9 analog signal then on the Train! in stamford especially over the RF of 96.7 WCTZ...

Best Buy in West Hartford had 4 this morning, they have 3 now, one is charging as we speak. I tried to see what IO get while it was charging and it wasn't all that much, it has a little more charge to it now, let's see what I get from here at the Portland Bridge:

WESU
WJMJ (weak)
WPKT
WWUH
WWYZ RDS
WZMX RDS
WKSS RDS
WTIC RDS then HD1/2/3
WRCH RDS
WKCI
WAQY (weak)
WDRC RDS
WMRQ (weak)
WIHS
WHCN RDS
WCCC

not really as good as the results I've seen posted earlier in this thread, but then again, this is while charging and being hooked up to other equipment to charge, headphone jack and other things here that might be causing issues with reception.

I hear they're putting Boston's SportsRadio 98.5 The Hub WBZ-FM on 96.5 HD3 here in Hartford. I am not a fan of the team, but I would assume they would have to blackout the New England Patriots due to their existing coverage on WCCC 106.9?

I can't blame CCC for dropping it. It cost's a lot to run those HD signals. unless there is a power increase, I don;t see the stations that are less than the 100,000 watt stations like WEBE 108 or Major metropolitain areas like NYC when in the city (not 30 miles out like I am) benefit from HD radio too much
