I'll tell you what should be banned from CNN (and others): Six minute 'debates'.

Why not spend 30 minutes allowing a face-off between two informed representatives offering two sides of an issue.

Why do you think there are only two sides to every issue?  Have we become so polarized that we cannot see shades of gray?
Sure thing, we need 28 people on every panel.

Reality is 98% of people voted for 1 of the 2 major parties.

Some views are more relevant than others.

Who said anything about parties?  Do you need to have a party to have a viewpoint?  If you restrict your thinking to that which is espoused by the parties then you are being very narrow-minded.

No but most of us are realists and realize that our society has a two party system and a show with 50 voices would make no sense.

But within the parties there are variations and streams of thought.

Is the public only served when ONE ideology from Party Red is put into the battle against ONE ideology from Party Blue?

Are the parties not better serve, and in turn the Republic better served when we also get to peek behind the curtain and understand what is going on within the parties?

Maybe we could say "A show with 50 voices would make no sense......   to those with limited mental abilities and limited curiosity.

Sorry but this is not about elections it is about getting eyes and ears, you do that by targeting the largest groups out tthere.

Last election 98% of us voted 1 of 2 ways. That is not changing.

I don't care how smart you think you are, 50 voices (most of them irrelevant) would be unwatchable.

Another attempt by CNN to "raise themselves above the fray" and appeal to the "educated masses".

In other words:  let's insult middle America some more by talking over their heads.

Which explains why CNN can't get ratings traction, except when something big happens.

We could start a whole new topic around your post.

Is CNN trying to reach ABOVE middle America,  or is CNN the only talk media ready to reach up out of the gutter and attempt to reach middle America?

Things that make you go:  "Hmmmmmmmmmmm."

Where is Gary Moore when we need him.  "Will the REAL middle America please stand up."

And who would fact check SNL skits if Wolf Blitzer didn't do it for us?
