Radio coverage on KNX is lacking, in my opinion. TV coverage, at least online, is abysmal.

What's going on in LA news on a night like this?

Except for Ch 9 later in the evening, the coverage just bites. I live in the hills above Glendale, and there is just no news at all... I suppose I should put stuff in the car and be ready.

Not one station thought about putting a crawl with updates on during regular shows.

David - best personal wishes to you ... and to all posters here caught in this mess.

I bet there will be talk on this board after this calms down.  We've talked about "dodging the bullet" before, but this is ridiculous  I've heard better coverage for hours on a 5.0 earthquake, let alone this.  Last year's coverage was excellent.

No streams and radio stations are woefully lacking.  KNX sounds like it's reading from press releases. KFI sounds atrocious. Live ... with talk that sounds like they don't know what the hell they are talking about. "I think it's still out of control ..."

I lived near Palmdale for several years and have friends in your area.  David, take care and keep a close eye out.  Most of all, get out in a moments notice.  80 foot flames heading your way from what I hear.

The last engineer on the mountain, Brian from Fox TV, says there is no immediate danger to the transmitter sites, as the fire is moving towards Acton and Santa Clarita... the other direction.

The parts of the fire on the in the mountain areas will just have to burn off. Firefighters will protect the areas that have population, and, of course, Wilson since it has much more than just the radio and tv facilities.

Hard to say at this moment.  Will be a long nite  up there.

If you want a spectacular, as well as scary, background screensaver for  your computer -- use this:

Image an 8.3 earthquake  ...

David is right ... as long as the wind stays low like it is, though I wouldn't want to be in Acton right now. Prary the wind doesn't shift.

Thank you. I live across from Flint Peak, a mile or so on the "good" side of the 210 Fwy. Hopefully, the fire will not jump to these mountains. The fire seems to be moving noth and NW towards Acton and Santa Clarita now...

David - in time, maybe you and others can identify for the new viewers the tower properties and stations in this view. I know it would be appreciated. Thank you ... and good luck.

I know where our transmitters are when I drive up, but I really never learned the others... and from the angle of the shot, I can't even find KLVE and KSCA (which has a main and an aux site).

I'll ask someone who knows.

From what I can see the flames look like they're dying down
