When was he let go from WZMX-FM 93.7 anyways?

Even though he was still under contract with Infinity, he was let go from WZMX when they flipped from Classic Hits 93-7 The Point to Jammin' Oldies - Dancin' Oldies Z-93.7 They said his talk show did not fit the new format.

So did I. And even though I was excited back in March 2001 that we were finally getting Hip-hop on FM, I was still disappointed when they dumped Dancin' Oldies. Back then I had hoped they would've flipped 96.5 to hip-hop.

Huh?

Hip hop is trash!! (@ least todays hip hop)

It sure is. Unfourtunatly for me one of my friends is a die-hard hip-hop fan makes me put on that crap (93.7) on in the car. Last week  one of the songs I heard was called "LOL Smiley Face". This is what passes for music now a days? Shoot me now. Then again there's a new CHR station out west called "OMG 97.7". Nothing surprises me anymore.

I'll leave my dial on 102.1 FM and rip off the knob (except for when that god awful Alice Cooper Show is on).

Seriously?  The Alice Cooper show is the only sign of life on that moldy dinosaur station.

Funny how we've gone from one dinosaur (WCCC) to another (WAQY) Smiley

Nothing says "garage" to me like WAQY or WPLR. Every time I bring my car into the shop, no matter which garage I use, one of those stations is guaranteed to be playing. Today, I stopped by Firestone for tires and sure enough, there was "Stairway to Heaven" blaring in the work area, same as it was when I first used that garage back in the mid-'80s! And to think some of you wonder how those stations maintain high ratings despite stale playlists ...

I don't know why, but for some reason I prefer WAQY over WPLR. Of course WRKI is better than both of those, but they don't have a consistant strong singal where I live/work.

I don't know what it is with auto repair shops and rock/classic rock stations. I used to know a guy who worked at a Jiffy-lube type place in New London County and he told me they always had on 98.7 WNLC or 104.7 The Wolf (now 102.3 The Wolf). 98.7 is Classic Hits. 104.7 (now 102.3) is Classic Rock. And a few years ago my dad was getting tires put on one of his vehicles and they had on 106.9 WCCC.

The Hartford Courant is reporting that the new WCCC morning show will be Picozzi, Holden and Mary Scanlon.  Klonk will be doing afternoon drive solo.
