It seems that Loren's sabbatical is about to end.  He announced on his Facebook page that he will be joining Fox 5 News, though he gave no start date.  Loren mentioned that in looking at other stations for a return to the airwaves, most stations wanted a robot to point to the maps and numbers.  Fox 5 is going to let Loren be Loren...weather plus his environmental investigations, features and instruction.

Loren (on vacation in Central America) mentioned that they are flying back tonight and Tuesday night he returns (possibly rusty) to doing the weather on Fox 5 San Diego.  TVJobs.com is reporting today that Kyle Hunter, meteorologist KSWB (Fox 5) is "on the beach".

In other San Diego TV news, former KNSD (NBC 7/39) weather personality Pat Brown has been hired to handle the weekend weather chores at KGTV (ABC -10) while Kirstin Lindquist is out on maternaty leave.
