do you know mr. eduardo? he's an anti -dominican man!

I suppose that the fact that his wife is Dominican supports that statement. Not.

Quote
he hates merengue,

His show plays no music.  And DJs don't program the musci, the PD does.

Quote
hates dominican dj's

Proof? There is none, and in any case, a morning show does not hire the DJs for the rest of the day. Please learn more about radio, man.

go ahead mr.eduardo, say it!

It.

Yeah, you think the creator of El Gobierno de la Mañana hates Dominicans and merengues.... that makes no sense at all.

Check with Willy and Marino and get back to me... otherwise, quit trying to make programming decisons into ethnic, racial or national issues.

And, for your information, as much as I would like to take credit for the excellent launch of X 95.3, there is a whole team in NY who put this together and they are the players on this field... I'm just a bystander.

IMHO, Luis Jiminez was only known and hot on El Vacilon.  As soon as Luis left La Mega, his radio career just went downhill.  Regarding X, maybe it's because I'm an internet radio guy, but I like X the way it is now, minus the luis jiminez show, non-stop music 24/7.

In the areas and ZIPs where WCAA had a parity signal (over 64 dbu) with WSKQ, the Luis Jimenez Show beat the other station in morning quite consistently. The issue there was signal.

They need to clean house there other than the morning show. Their music is "all over the place".  I hear male arist after male, after male after male...  No new music.  It's stale and still tired. It has potential and the best thing they did was get rid of someone that just loves hearing himself.  All he did was talk... talk and talk about things noone cares about plus he was the most "un-natural" sounding jock I ever heard.  The vomit puking voice was his only strength as a jock.  Noone cares that he's gone. Lets only hope he doesn't resurface.

Soooooooo....it's ok for 105.9 to have crappy ratings and for 105.9 to have a bad signal, but it's a disaster for Pulse 87 to have low ratings and not say it's the signal or even the dial position.  You know, 105.9's signal covers twice as much the area compared to Pulse and it's ok to say that La Kalle had a bad signal therefore caused their ratings to slide, but Pulse 87 is a disaster, and they are doing bad, but when we say they have a limited signal, their position on the dial is at the bottom, and the station was "word of mouth", oh no, thats not why Pulse is doing bad.  So you expect me to believe that La Kalle was suffering when they had a better coverage area than Pulse?  I think what made La Kalle better was to keep it 100% Raggaeton and/or if you wanted Luis Jiminez, at least try to have El Vacilon on La Kalle.

Pulse is a general market station, while WCAA was a Spanish language station, limited to those people in the signal area who are Spanish dominant. that's enough differences to call the "apples and oranges" card and say that this is an irrelevant comparison.

Pulse did badly like every other dance station in the US. A period, generally less than a year, of interesting performance, and then a decline that terminates in extinction. The fact that a good signal, like Party in Miami, exhibited this pattern should show that signal is irrelevant... the format is the issue.

So you expect me to believe that La Kalle was suffering when they had a better coverage area than Pulse?

The Kalle 64 dbu had far fewer Spanish dominant Hispanics in it than the 64 dbu of Pulse has English speakers or bilinguals... yet Kalle beat Pulse consistently.

Huh? Reggaetón moved on, and is no longer a format anywhere on the US mainland... and "Vacilón" is a trademark of WSKQ, even though Luis brought the name... the show is Luis, not the name of the show. Luis is on X 96.3.
