So what happens after the 6 dB power increase?

I am curious; for those of you who own a facility, do you intend to increase power if the FCC allows it? And what do you think will happen next?

Will the power increase be widely adopted? Or will just a few stations try it?

Will the interference be as bad as some people think? And if it is, will anyone care? (The industry obviously doesn't care about what happened on the AM band).

Will the power increase make a big difference in coverage? If it doesn't, what does that mean for the future of HD radio?

What happens if HD still doesn't take off after stations make the investment in boosting power?

I just finished some contract work for a group that includes two FM HD's.  They're both high level combined and the facilities are such that they can't increase their power output without adding new equipment.  They will not do so.  I suspect this is the case in the majority of HD systems.

Just much more noise and interference, especially in the most populated areas of the USA.
