Actually, I was trying to find the thread here but I had mentioned this just after the Star and Buc Wild show went off the air. As I first got on Facebook, I was talking with Vic about the days he was at 'KTU. To which I thought to myself, since Pulse 87 had no morning show, why don't they just do a local syndication of Vic's "Vic Latino's Neighborhood" morning show onto Pulse! It wouldn't have cost Pulse much, except having Party tap into their line from 6A - 10A and they could have split the ad percentages somehow. Kinda fully how everything comes to full circle here! Tony S., I found the thread you were looking for. Nostradamus of you, I'd say. Check the link to this thread started on March 23, 2009: http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,123208.0.htmlPlus this post as well from Nick & DeeJay on 8/7-8/2009: http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,149163.msg1270064.html#msg1270064Plus this thread from Optimum started on 9/20/2008: http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,109801.0.htmlWOW! Thank you for finding it pjc! I thought it was something that would make sense at the time. It's just funny how everything goes around in a "full circle" here! There were some other interesting things I've said on the other threads that appeared to come to fruition! Man, I'd better play Mega Millions tonight!

I can't believe a bunch of suggested that it would be a good idea to have Party 105 buy out Pulse 87 if they go under. Now that it happened, we don't like it. Having a watered down Pulse in the form of Party 87 is better than no dance at all.
Tony, if you do win the Mega Millions, you should buy out 101.9.

I don't know...after hearing them on my way home today, they were a little heavy on dance. I would say about 4 hip hop songs but about 7 or 8 dance tracks.

How about getting a Dance station here in Albany N.Y.?
And why not I've been up there, remembering the WVCR days. I'd study more up on the market but there is a scene there...especially along N. Pearl.

For some reason, why do I see Emmis being stubborn in wanting to make 'RXP work somehow???

Nah. Go after 92.3. For some reason, formatting a station to go after young New Jersey schoolgirls seem like too-farfetched an idea. Going fully dance certainly can't be worse than that.

I just noticed that, here in Monmouth County, all these teenage and tween girls are listening to 92.3 NOW, the moms are listening to Z100, and well, then there are those who occasionally listen to Hit 106.

Yes, it is very profitable for advertisers to target young teen girls with no disposable income of their own.

If we want to go back even further than that, there were calls for Jarad Broadcasting to put Party on 92.7, replacing the old WLIR, based on the fact that 92.7's numbers were at their highest in its latter years when the station was more dance-friendly in its music. Of course, that did not happen, and our friends at Univision paid $62 million for a station that isn't breaking a 0.6-0.7 but which is somehow far more "successful" than a station with a 1.0 and a higher cume Being the only station specifically covering the roughly 1 million Mexican or Mexican American residents of the market, WQBU gets the first call for the significant ad revenue for this segment. A general market station with a 1 share is so far down the list it would likely get no buys ever.
