Former LARP - 5 years @ KFWB

« on: October 31, 2009, 12:58:09 PM »

Lovely profile and interview of Michael Jackson, LA's legendary talk radio host who is returning to KABC this weekend for a weekly Sunday financial show (according to this interview - http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-morrison31-2009oct31,0,1462693.column). I cannot find the time slot for it on KABC.com so it might be a sponsored show.

When Michael Jackson was at his peak in the 70s thru early 90s there was no one better. It is often said that his decline began with the rise of Rush Limbaugh, which is unfortunate as Michael Jackson was IMO, much more stimulating, thought provoking, and topical. And....no one had a rolodex that was as stocked with an amazing parade of well-known in-studio guests like Jackson.

Yes, he was a great LA radio personality back in KABC's hey day.  When he left KABC, there was a hysterical "tribute" to Michael Jackson making fun of his accent, a "translation" of words the way he pronounced them vs. how a typical American would.  Maybe it was on Don Barrett's site, I don't remember.  I wish I could find it again.

And now he's the front man for a paid hour of block programming...otherwise known as an infomercial.
