I have noticed many changes to this station ... To whoever listens to it they might have noticed its strictly 96  mins of pure music now ... For a while now there was rumors that it was going to be sold ... From the changes they made I am guessing its true? Does anyone know whats going with this station or what changes SBS is planning on doing?

Whatever they do, I hope they call it Mixed Race 96.3, and appeal to people like me....no really they should go all-Christmas, so the owners (whoever it would be) could have time to come up with an idea for a better format....

Lol I agree well from the sound of it and from people I know that used to work there they been trying to go mainstream but it hasn't been working ... when the station started was for every 2 Spanish songs it be 1 English now its reversed 2 English 1 Spanish ... regardless of the changes they been trying to do I think it be better for them to have changed everything from the beginning I know a lot of people who weren't happy with the host they had ... some didn't even speak Spanish when it supposed to be a "bilingual" station .... regardless I hope this new change works out

I remember when Latino 96.3 was blasting off in the ratings at its launch. But just remember, the only way that 96.3 will probably be flipped to Spanish is if SBS sells 96.3. The problem is that SBS will probably be receiving about 1/5 of what they paid for it for originally in this economic climate! Some advice for SBS: Keep 96.3 for now with a good filler format to make some money meanwhile, then sell to make a decent amount of money.

Honestly, I think they screwed up by not flipping to all hip-hop and old school R&B...it would've worked too, better signal and all...but KDAY of course made that move...

Hmmmm.... so I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before KVIB 95.1 Club 95 Latino Vibe changes as well. I wonder what caused reggaeton to fall so quickly after the abrupt takeover it was beginning to have around 2004-2005? A lot of stations were benefiting and having big opportunities and chances from the reggaeton era, and I knew the moment it started to fade, something would have to happen to all those stations that thrived on it. In addition to the latin rhythm / hurban format, it also helped the spanish top 40 formats a bit, too. Now both formats seem to be disappearing on a nationwide scale.

Well, I used to be a bigger fan of KVIB 95.1 Latino Vibe, but my interest in them has faded over time. Also, my main reason for liking them was the amount of mix shows they had that played uptempo hits, but now I can get more dance/house on the other rhythmics we have in Phoenix than I can on KVIB. Lastly, KVIB used to be bilingual, but have gone much more spanish over the past year or two.

KXOL was pretty cool when I listened, but it's no longer really the format I desire much anymore. I still enjoy Power 106 more, especially with Richard Vission there and the fact that they embrace the electro-hip hop and house sound. Just wait until everyone else wakes up and starts jumping on the bandwagon. Well I'm sure once KXOL closes, KPWR will benefit, unless of course KXOL becomes the "Movin 99.7" of L.A. while Power 106 acts as the "WiLD 94.9" of L.A. Now THAT would be interesting to see.

I would like to see KXOL become more like the old Moving 99.7/SF or better yet, KTU/NY, a well programmed Rhythmic AC.

How about changing their image to  "Party 96.3" or "Jammin 96.3"  or "96.3 The Vibe" instead of Latino 96.3.
