If the rumors are true, and KTWV ends up going after KOST, do you think the execs in the Clear Channel building will regret firing the open shot by sending KYSR after KROQ?

Until that point, we had a Cold war stalemate in LA radio.  Now, it appears, the gloves are off...

Well then - my prediction was way off.  If this is the case - will Kim Amidon and Mike Saclaredis (Sorry - I know I cannot spell) come back?  That would be cool.

Well, probably not Mike Sakellarides, since he is now in the (unconventional) 8 AM to 1 PM slot at at KGIL-AM "Retro 1260."

Well, I was expecting Hot AC due to the lower demos but Mainstream AC could work, too.  They might walk that line in between Hot and Mainstream AC and take listeners away from both KBIG and KOST, without cannibalizing the other CBS FM's.  Should be a good AC battle if it proves to be true.

KBIG was a disaster in its Rhythmic Gold AC days, and by basically switching KYSR's format to KBIG and creating a new Alternative format on KYSR, saved the CC cluster. How would CC regret that?

Comparing billing year over year would be impossible given the economic climate.  However, if the rumors about KTWV turn out to be true and CBS switches to AC, along with the AMP flip, the "wall of women" that CC prided themselves on has been damaged.

With three formats going head to head between CBS and CC, it would seem likely that billing would suffer in the long run, as buyers don't need the redundancy of similar audiences.

The competition was bound to happen, but CC got the ball rolling.

CC doesn't give a s*** about 98.7, it's showing that with CC NOT flipping it, with it being in 21st place...CC literally has no idea what they could put on that frequency. Maybe they should actually create an FM station targeted towards males...Sports Talk, FM Talk, or just even take all those female-friendly artists out of their playlist and attach some balls to it...

I'm an outsider looking at this, but it doesn't shock me that CBS LA is looking at taking on the wall of women that CC developed out of consolidation. I don't think it would be too hard to AC up an NAC format and start to welcome women to the format with fine tuning. In studying two other NAC (not the Wave) stations in the past in markets where I worked, I noticed a strong male presence and a whopping level of 35-64 demo. However that's not the place to be if you are trying to get more on the buys that agencies clearly dictate to be feminine.

Let's face it, K-Earth and AMP is designed for women, so why not the Wave?
