I hope Eddie gets well. At least he did try to bring a Urban-type format back to Pittsburgh.

WRCT has two outstanding programs in this genre; the long-running music program "One to One" with 30-year vet Kevin Amos (6 am to noon Sundays and airing in the slot for over 10 years) and talk show "Ebony Spectrum" (Wednesdays at 6 pm).

The only signal boost they're going to have is back up to their licensed 1,000 watts.  There's no construction permit stating otherwise.  They applied for an STA back in March of this year to operate at 500 watts semi-nondirectional due to wind damage of one of the tower's detuning skirts.  The only way they'll go beyond a thousand watts is if they do a very expensive engineering study that says they can go beyond that with their existing site, or build a third tower (they have enough space on that plot of land for one).  Either way, they'll need a new transmitter on top of that and I don't think Loran Mann is willing to spend that kind of money with the way the economy is right now.

I can't believe I'm still in this business after almost two decades.  And I still love it!
