106.1 RDU Talk? Or will they do away with that handle like they did at first when they named the country version "Rooster"?
Also, CC is forgetting one thing: RDU wouldn't just be going up against PTF; they would also be going up against 'ZTK. I predict that the Curtis Media tandem would win that war also...
As for the Carolina sports broadcasts, would they stay on RDU, or would they join the Capitol sports conglomerate that now has the flagship stations of both N.C. State (Mix 101.5) and Duke (the new 620 The Buzz)? Maybe shift N.C. State over to 99.9 The Fan to make way for Carolina on Mix 101.5 (Mix was the former WTRG's predecessor for Carolina sports broadcasts)? The only other Clear Channel scenario I can think of would be for the Tar Heel Sports Network to move back to 100.7, which would then put the local affiliates of Carolina (100.7), Wake Forest (101.1) and N.C. State (101.5) together on consecutive spots on the dial.

I recall reading an article stating that they would go local in the morning.

I don't know if they will drop the calls, but I wonder if much like 94.5 in G'boro, 106.1 will become "Rush Radio."

Leave it to CMG to beat 'em to the punch: They did the same thing in 2006 when 106.1 went country, snatching up 1061therooster.com and therooster1061.com and having them point to 94.7 QDR.
