i just found this station, by accident on the web, when it was listed as "Oldies", i thought it was the run of the mill 60's 70's T-40 station. to my surprize they are what i used to know as a "MOR" from the late 60's-early 70's. my hats off to them. they seem to have a following, programming to an audience 50+ with very good ratings!(please spare me with the "Ya but its demographics nobody wants" mantra).. it must be working for THEM, OK...  it's refreshing to hear something "Different" on the radio. thanks for having the Guts to do it.

i will have to check them out. IF a format like this is on ANYWHERE they usually bury it on an AM signal with 250 watts but, KLI is on FM, i just thought that was gutsy for someone to do.

After listening to .77 you will leave 100.9 in the dust Smiley

Both KAAM and WKLI cover basically the same eras of music. I love KAAM too but they are an all inclusive "oldies, nostalgia" station. Very few commercial stations anywhere can match their playlist. There are a great listen(except on weekend days where there's too much talk!!) WKLI is more of an "easy listening" station. They can be a good listen too with fine variety if you don't want to hear the rockier tunes. Like the first post said they are "MOR" not the same music as KAAM. Depending on your mood or taste you can be over 50 and enjoy KAAM or WKLI.

Sometimes I think "The Dude" should be called "The Rude" - he very often likes to put things down or always say there's something better... WKLI does a wonderful job and it's hard to describe the station as one specific format. Jay Scott does an amazing job with the station and it's always a pleasure to listen to the station. In the last book this little class "A" station was just right below the big 50k sister B95 in the 12+ and that says a lot for the fine station it is!

It's not a bad station at all. Certainly not under the thumbs of corporate controlled radio.  Jay does a great job and seems to put his heart and soul into it.  It's a good alternative to the same cookie cutter stuff you hear from market to market.  Give credit where credit is due, for a 6kw station it's almost always in the top 5.   Smiley

Hey "The Dude" I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I don't get mad at people on post boards especially those that I've never met! I just figured you hated everything by how you word posts. Sometimes expression gets lost in translation in an online setting because we can't hear tone nor see facial expressions!

So don't sweat it and please don't let my perceptions impair your posting!
