I live in L.A., so excuse me for this question: Is the Fan doing better in the ratings that Live 105.3?
The worst rating in persons 12+ for Live 105.3 was a 1.4 rating in the month that the station flipped formats in the middle of the ratings period.

The best rating in persons 12+ for 105.3 "The Fan" was a 1.4 rating last month that has fallen back to a 1.3 this month.

Meanwhile, they are paying out the biggest sum ever for a Dallas Cowboys broadcast that is being listened to by far fewer people than when it was on 1310AM last year but they are also paying Russ Martin 7-figures to sit out.

105.3 The Fan is the worst fail in radio since David Lee Roth (coincidentally, another CBS error).

It's funny because, KLSX had similar ratings around December but, when they flipped in Feburary the ratings had climbed to a 2.1. I wonder what would've happened if CBS left 105.3 alone for a couple of months...like I said, CBS should not have killed the format in cities where it worked!

Everything with regard to "The Fan" reaks of arrogant New York people making the decisions with no knowledge of how the actual consumers feel.  I mean, why trust second rate "dallas" people to tell you how people feel in the market when you are NEW YORKERS and you are SO MUCH BETTER than second rate Dallas people!

If the station is doing bad it needs to flip formats.  Sports is doing well in other markts, so let's do that in the Dallas market too!  What to do with programming?  Well, we need to keep the MORNING SHOW because we all now the morning show is the ANCHOR of the station.  We need to keep the audiance so we can change everything but the MORNING SHOW because that's the ANCHOR.

Who'se this afternoon drive guy?  Russ Martin?  Is he syndiacated?  No!?!  Why are we paying him so much?  Who cares about afternoon drive, in NEW YOWK we know it's all about the morning drive!  Let's get rid of this guy!!!

That's how it was done.  You know that's the truth.  There was no waiting around to see if things changed.  It was all corporate arrogance making a change for the entire USA from east to west coast all at once.
