Where can I find an old map of the site and contour of the old 104.9 frequency?  Also what is the name of the old site located for Channel 104.9?  I thought Clear Channel move 104.9 to San Jose to have a better coverage down there?

Well - I'll be...  I never thought I'd actually find anything like this, but here it is:

The transmitter site was on a little plateau just above Mission Boulevard, to the East of Niles (a district in Fremont).  That map obviously wasn't official, but it was fairly accurate except for the exaggerated claims of coverage past the coastal mountain range.  I do remember that (as KDOS) they were able to license a translator in the Mission district of San Francisco because it was within their city-grade contour.

Not official? Somebody ran over to the Mobil station, grabbed a free road map, cut out a chunk of it, circled the lower Bay Area with a ballpoint pen, taped it to some fancy KFMR letterhead and xeroxed it, and you don't think that's an official coverage map? How dare you, sir!!!
