Does anyone remember the call letters of the Rochester, Pa. radio station?  I understand that it moved to Butler in the mid fifties.  I used to listen to them prior to the move.  Also, was it the 680KHz or 1050 KHz. station?

The WBUT 1050 web page states it signed on in 1949, Owned by the Wise Family, Publishers of the Butler Eagle Newspaper. On Christie Ave In Butler. Did They Move the Station From Rochester? was WBUT on Another Freq?
I Know Mr. Philip Hirsch was the Station Manager back in the 50"s, Then he Moved on to 1080 Pittsburgh. He Talked about working At WBUT AM&FM. but not it's Start up.

Apparently the station didn't last long in Rochester.  The 1950 Yearbook may have been printed before the move.

Broadcasting year book 1950 list's WBUT on 1580 with 500 watts, I can"t find a Butler pa. listing for 1954 but the 1955 Broadcasting Yearbook lists WBUT 1050 with 250 watts. Maybe Mr. Hawk can help us out.
