I have been listening today to the new 70s/80s based oldies station on 1150 AM in Corpus Christi, actually sounds pretty good, I prefer it to KMXR though it is a jukebox. It is also streaming:

I know that for several years 1150 moved between Talk shows and "Jalapeno Oldies" I think this new format sounds quite a bit better and hopefully will have greater staying power.

A new website has also been put up for the Texacana format on 94.7, not sure how much the format was actually tweaked, I don't tend to listen to this station.

All Access is also speculating about additional news from stations owner Restless Communications.

Ummm...did I miss something here? According to the FCC, Reina Broadcasting, Inc still owns KBSO and  Radio KCCT, Inc. still owns KCCT. Both show Manuel Davila as President. I don't even see an LMA filed with the FCC. Where did you see that the stations are now owned by Restless Communications?

I saw the All Access article right now. I thought Scott Holt was at Convergent Broadcasting? When did he make the jump over to KBSO/KCCT? Who is PD at Convergent now?

Unfortunately, I am not up on the goings on behind the scenes in Corpus radio, it was the first time I had heard of Restless as well. I do think 1150 AM's new music format sounds pretty interesting.

There was an article in the Caller Times stating KCCT and KBSO were being operated by Restless Communications.  I've never checked to see if a sale has been filed, but I've never seen an LMA on file at the FCC except as a supplemental document with a station sale or as a response to a complaint.  At least at one time, LMA's weren't filed with the FCC and were just kept in each station's public inspection file.

They are calling themselves SAM 1150.  I assume this is the Automated service?  (WW1 IIRC)

No, 1150 SAM-AM is locally programmed just like his older brother, the old JAKE-FM.

Wow.  I would have thought they wounldn't have used a copyrighted format name like SAM.  Dial Global uses it.  Wonder why they did that?

i believe he's the same guy that ruined jake fm. it tanked after it's initial launch, i think the music changed too often. and if they're using a copywrited name, it wouldn't surprise me at all. funny s**t.

in fact, i believe this SAM 1150 is just a rip off of the DG SAM. how hard is it to 'rip off' programming from another source?? what a joke!!
