Per All Access:
Hosts LISA WILLIAMS and ERIC ALLEN of EMF BROADCASTING Christian AC K-LOVE RADIO NETWORK morning show "K-LOVE MORNINGS WITH LISA AND ERIC" are moving from EMF headquarters in ROCKLIN, CA to INDIANAPOLIS. The morning show will broadcast from the K-LOVE studios at WKLU/INDIANAPOLIS.
According to the show's blog on FACEBOOK, the network morning show had to start at 3a (PT) to be heard at 6a (ET). The move to INDIANAPOLIS will allow WILLIAMS and ALLEN to adjust their schedules for more evening time with family. It will also place network personalities in closer proximity to network events around the country.

They bought KLU because it fits in nicely with the half dozen plus other full power stations in Indiana (plus applications pending and translators). It is good to see the studio used instead of shuttered like EMF usually does. (They did pay separately for the license and the studio.)

Plus it gives redundancy...If something crucial fails in Rocklin, the show goes on from Indy. Did the article say when this starts?

When I started in radio in 1967, most broadcast equipment used tube technology, all recorded music was played from records on a turntable by live DJ's, there was no satellite delivery...and radio was fun.

I bet the fact that Indiana is now on Daylight Savings Time was a factor in the decision also.

This is great news. To have a local presence with local personalities & the opportunities for local involvement is what radio's about. The bulk of their programming is still a satellite-feed but this is very good for Indy. Plus, unlike "The Song", K-Love's on-air people are actually allowed to say the name of Jesus, even if it wasn't in the name of the tune they just played. Occasionally they EVEN read the Bible verse of the day! Incredulous! Welcome to Indy, K-Love! Mighty Frenchman, formerly of Love 98!

I like K-Love for lots of reasons including that jocks, specifically JD Chandler, will pray with listeners on the air. I love that.
And if anyone really thinks that EMF bought WKLU or any station to accommodate a jock's living preference, you really are clueless. They don't do that and it would be stupid of them to do so. Come on. BTW, JD Chandler is about to move to NC with his wife. Also K-Love's former morning team did their show from their house.

And that is another reason to like EMF. Not many other groups that would allow their air staff to live where they want & do their show from home. Jon & Sherry had a satellite uplink (not cheap) at their home. Another tidbit...Amy Baughman who does the news updates isn't in California...she's in Dayton. I'm not interested in ever working a 'full time real job' again, but if I were, EMF would be at the very top of my wish list.

The fact that stations and networks use that technology instead of having people's butts in chairs in real time is what 95 percent of R-I is bitching about. Real radio people pack the UHaul every two years :-D
