I read the article...if I were in any of their shoes, I'd be calling my lawyer (if I hadn't done so already). Very scary stuff, here. This doesn't look good for the radio operations.

Oh, the irony for the business/money network!
Bittersweet news, Brent?
Programming staff -- Doug, Troy, etc. -- run for the hills!

I get the feeling I'm about to re-inherit a headache.

I don't wish a headache on you, Chuck, but it would be a great outlet for the jazz/blues/oldies some of us want so desperately if you did get it back.

I agree that it would be a good place to put a niche format. Anything but a money and finance format. Anyone who thinks they can make any money with that kind of format has to be delusional.
A for-real radio news format, with a real news department, maybe?

Or a liberal/progressive news/talk station. Old Chicago

If it reverts back to Salem, I can guarantee that won't happen. It would not become all news, either. The cost of equipment plus an appropriate number of staff to effectively operate it would be cost prohibitive.

The old adage which normally relates to the wine business looks like it's applicable here:
Q: How do you wind up with a small fortune in the broadcast business?
A: Start off with a large one.
