A woman who was screaming about the death of Chicago school board president Michael Scott took a brick out of a gift bag, and hurled it through the plate-glass window of WGN's studio at Tribune Tower.  This happened at about 11 AM Chicago time, during John Williams' show.  No injuries were reported.

The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for evaluation, and "may be a mental patient. She might be a little sick," according to a Chicago police officer who was at the scene.  Ya think?  Shocked

I thought the glass was a little more substantial than that. I suppose if this crazy woman could do it, then anyone could.  Sad

Perhaps this will cause WGN management to reconsider whether the showcase studio (referred to this morning as the "throwcase" studio) is such a good idea. I know that even without the risk of someone throwing a brick it is distracting to the performers, because I've heard them comment on that in the past.

What a crazy world we live in!

Garry Meier referred to her yesterday afternoon as "Ernestine Bass." Would expect nothing less out of him.
That is funny!
